Family-Owned Business

Burleigh and Doris’ children, Byron Wheeler and his wife Angela, and Karla Wheeler Waters and her husband Tom, purchased the business in the fall of 2018, and began business as Wheeler Livestock Auction, Inc. Byron and Angela both grew up in St. Clair county on beef farms, while Karla and Tom operate a successful family row crop operation in Orrick, Missouri. Together their knowledge of livestock, their business and management experience, and their customer service focus, will bring efficiencies to the day to day operations and overall business to better serve you. Wheeler Livestock Auction wants your buying and selling experience to meet all your needs.

Byron, Angela, Karla and Tom hired their nephew Austin Shelby, who manages the barn, keeping track of cattle as they move through to sell. The rest of the crew is made up of familiar employees rounding out the team, who have worked for the business for several years. Although the barn only sells cattle, if you follow our Facebook page you will meet Byrons horse Hank, a tough ole' soul and a rooster named "Wheeler" who really runs the place!
